When Jürgen Schmitt steps in front of the camera with his distinctive beard and one of his unmistakable blue or pink hoodies, you know it’s time for a journey of discovery. Together with film director and editor Sabine Streich, the Deutsche Bank corporate influencer uses #ExpeditionFinance to make future-oriented topics easy to understand. In the series “results. Close-up,” the team takes a look behind the scenes at medium-sized companies and shows how innovations come to life in practice. The blue and pink hoodies have long since become the trademark of #ExpeditionFinance. We were all the more delighted that we were allowed to take the hoodies home with us as a special memento after the day of filming.
We were especially pleased that one of these expeditions took us to ENNEATECH this time, out in the countryside of East Frisia, where people still say “Moin.”
Already that morning, under bright sunshine, there was a relaxed yet professional atmosphere. While Jürgen Schmitt guided us through the day of filming with his friendly and genuine manner, Sabine Streich, drawing on her extensive experience and keen eye for detail, ensured that every scene was captured perfectly.
A Look Behind the Scenes: A Closer Look at Our Plastic Recycling
The focus of the tour was our plastics recycling process. From incoming goods through sorting and processing all the way to the finished compound, our guests gained insights into the entire recycling process. Our laboratory, the heart of our production, was also part of the tour. This is where materials are tested, formulations are developed, and the highest quality standards are ensured.
The open exchange was particularly enjoyable. There were lots of questions, technical discussions, and laughter. It was precisely this relaxed atmosphere that made the day of filming such a special experience. At the same time, it provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the circular economy and to demonstrate how modern plastics recycling can contribute to a sustainable and resource-efficient future.
From “Dirty Kid” to a High-Tech Circular Economy
It also became clear just how much plastics recycling has changed over the past few decades. What was once often considered the “black sheep” of the plastics industry has continued to evolve. Today, high-quality recycled compounds can be used in many applications on par with virgin material in terms of quality—a development that ENNEATECH has helped shape for over 40 years.
More Than Just a Day of Filming: A Big Thank You
For us, the visit from #ExpeditionFinance was much more than just a day of filming. It was a great opportunity to showcase our work, our expertise, and our company to a wide audience, while also being part of a program that highlights innovation and brings people together.
