Efforts to find a peaceful solution have been unsuccessful. More than a million people from Ukraine have become refugees, thousands have already been killed. Fear and suffering have supplanted security and hope.
Our thoughts are with everyone for whom this terrible war brings hardship, grief and fear into their lives. There are no appropriate words to express our dismay.
The war threatens all our lives and blatantly violates our values – freedom, the rule of law, tolerance and respect.
We are counting on the unity of Europe. Efforts to end the war must be successful. We stand for diplomacy, democracy and human rights. We wish for reconciliation and peace!
Mr. Putin, stop your war!
