We want to do more to conserve biodiversity. With this in mind, on 13 August 2024 Enneatech and ten other companies joined the regional “Bündnis für Biodiversität” (Alliance for Biodiversity), founded by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) for East Frisia and Papenburg. This initiative was launched by DIHK Service GmbH as part of the “Unternehmen Biologische Vielfalt” (UBi, Engaging German Companies for Biodiversity) project, which aims to encourage companies to become involved in biodiversity. The alliance is supported by the Ökowerk Foundation and Wirtschaftsförderung und Stadtmarketing Emden GmbH.
At the founding event, held at the Emden Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we pledged to join the alliance and, as a first step, to implement at least one operational measure to protect biodiversity. The Alliance for Biodiversity works on the basis of defined guidelines. Companies can contribute to the conservation of biodiversity in a variety of ways that go beyond strict compliance with legal environmental standards. Members of the alliance are supported by the project partners of the UBi project with knowledge transfer and advice. We will share how this is being put into practice at ENNEATECH!
Along with climate protection, the conservation of biological diversity is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity today. It is also the focus of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 14 and 15 (life below water, life on land). New studies show that biodiversity is an essential foundation for achieving the other SDGs.
