Another milestone has been reached – We are pleased that after the verification for ENTRON eco A – PA6.6 we also received the environmental product declaration for ENTRON eco B – PA6 granules. This enables us to provide our customers with a comprehensive and independent picture of the environmental performance of our products.
What makes an EPD a high-quality environmental label?
EPDs provide environmental information and make a product objectively comparable. Based on a life cycle analysis (LCA), the potential environmental impact of a construction product is determined – thus providing scientifically sound data to issue a preliminary EPD. Before the results are registered and published, they are verified in a further step – in other words viewed by independent third parties and checked in accordance with ISO 14025. EPDs thus become meaningful and almost indispensable indicators for environmentally conscious planning and construction.
The technical compound ENTRON eco B is a PA 6 granulate made from 100% synthetic fibres, which are produced as by-products of the high-end textile industry. It serves as a raw material in near-prime quality for the processing industry and is used in the textile and furniture industry, vehicle and mechanical engineering, in precision engineering and medical technology, in electrical engineering and in construction. The excellent properties of the ENTRON eco polyamides are characterised by high strength and abrasion resistance, good sliding properties, strong chemical and heat distortion resistance and are suitable for extrusion and injection moulding.
Excellent environmental performance officially confirmed
Based on data from the year 2019/2020
We promote sustainability through clear and transparent communication
With a more than 96% lower footprint compared to new polyamide products based on fossil raw materials, we have already established a good starting point. However, our goal is to further reduce our ecological footprint. That’s why in 2021 we decided to use only green electricity from wind energy and hydropower for our production facility. Further measures – to optimise our forklift fleet, reduce water consumption, etc. – are planned and will be implemented gradually. This will lead to further reduction of our ecological footprint.
